Burst Water main causes Witney water problems

Hundreds of homes in Witney were left without water for several hours on New Year's Day after a water main burst in the town.

Thames Water received around 1800 calls from residents without supplies or with reduced water pressure in Witney from mid-morning.

The busrt water main, in Station Lane, was repaired by engineers and supplies were expected to return by the end of the afternoon, but at the time of writing we are still experiencing lower water pressure than normal amd full service was not resumed until around 9:15pm
