Witney News - Witney MP is confirmed as new Tory party leader

The Witney MP David Cameron has been confirmed as the new leader of the Conservative party today (6th December).
Tory party members voted in favour of Cameron who won 134,446 of 198,844 valid votes cast.
David Cameron, a relative outsider at the beginning of the campaign, beat one of the pre-campaign favourites David Davis in the final round of voting.
Cameron will now have to form his team as he takes over from Michael Howard who has lead the party since November 2003 and stepped down after losing the 2005 General Election in May.
