Temporary Witney car park could stay

A car parking area in Witney opened to compensate for the loss of parking spaces in the town could stay open.

The spaces, on part of Marriotts Close adjacent to the Welch Way car park, were opened to help parking problems caused by the loss of spaces in the Welch Way when the first phase of the West End Link road was being built. At the same time many parking spaces at Sainsbury's were unavailable while they were being redeveloped.

But the Council has applied for permission to keep the temporary spaces open for a minimum of two years.
