Committee appeals for members

West Oxfordshire District Council is looking to appoint two independent people to be members of a Panel which considers allowances for councillors.

Duties will include making recommendations to the Council regarding the allowances that should be payable to councillors. Appointment is on a rolling basis with the term of office up until the end of March each year. The Panel has a key role to play in helping to ensure that democracy in the District continues to be accountable.

Panel members can not be members of any local authority. They should possess the relevant knowledge, skills and abilities that will enable them to make a meaningful contribution to the process.

Further details and an application form are on the Council’s website www.westoxon.gov.uk/allowances or by calling 01993 861521.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is by Friday 16 April 2010
