New Chairman for West Oxfordshire District Council

Cllr Keith Stone from Carterton has been elected as the new Chairman at the Annual Council Meeting held on Wednesday 17th May. Previously Cllr Stone has served as Vice-chairman.

Following his election Cllr Stone thanked his fellow councillors saying, “My involvement with the Council stretches back to 1982. I've learnt to appreciate the value of the work done here both by the Members and staff and the efforts to support people in the area. Our aim is to continue to improve services and achieve targets.”

Cllr Stone also paid tribute to the retiring Chairman, Cllr Joe Walcott, saying, “I have enjoyed working with Joe as his Vice-Chairman and learnt a lot from him. He is very popular in the District and beyond.”
