Maurice RAVEL Quartet in F
This String Quartet, written in 1902, has an individual quality which gives
a powerful melodic unity to the simplicity and clarity of this lyrical piece.
The music’s joy lies in sheer sound. Ravel relishes the possibilities of
string playing, from interweaving bowed lines to massively resonating
pizzicato, by way of some novel and intriguing combinations all his own.
