Snap up some great offers during West Oxon Week

Snap up some great offers during West Oxon Week West Oxfordshire's very own 'Croc Man' is opening the doors of Britain's only crocodile zoo for 2-for-1 entry as part of a district-wide discount week for local residents.

Sean Foggett, otherwise known as Channel 5's 'Croc Man', is among local business owners taking part in West Oxfordshire District Council's West Oxfordshire Week (WOW).

The week will run from 19 to 25 September 2011 to give all local residents the chance to get discounted entry to a range of local tourism attractions.

Residents should look out for WOW voucher sheets arriving in the post along with their Electoral Registration forms.
Crocodiles of the World, based in Crawley, is giving 2-for-1 entry on Sunday 25 September to anyone who books in advance. Wychwood Brewery is holding special evening tours from Monday 19 to Friday 23 with 2-for-1 entry and discounted entry is available at other attractions, including Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Cotswold Wildlife Park in Burford, Rousham House Gardens and Chipping Norton Museum of Local History, among others.

Crocodile enthusiast Mr Foggett kept some of the animals in the garden of his Witney home before opening Crocodiles of the World earlier this year.

He said: "I think the West Oxfordshire Week is great for the local community and we're really pleased to be involved. We have only recently been able to open to the public and hopefully this will offer people the chance to come and experience what we do and to see and learn about these beautiful creatures."

Cllr Richard Langridge, Cabinet Member for Economy and Local Communities at the District Council, said: "We support West Oxfordshire's tourism industry and work to promote the area as a must-see visitor attraction and this special week is about getting local residents involved. We hope people will take advantage of these great offers to find out what fantastic attractions there are on their doorstep."

For more details about WOW, including a full list of the offers available, see the Council's website www.westoxon.gov.uk/WOW or call 01993 861080.
