Police called to protect Witney football team

The Witney and West Oxfordshire Gazette reports that police were called to a football match between Witney Viking Colts under-16s and Rose Hill in Oxford on Sunday 22nd January when Viking players complained of being intimidated by Rose Hill players and their supporters.

The match was abandoned ten minutes into the second half. Witney were losing 6-0 at the time.
