Witney Carnival 2009

Witney Carnival takes place this Saturday, 11th July.

The Parade starts at 11.00am and it's route will be from The Leys, along Church Green towards the Buttercross. Along Corn Street, turning right into Holloway Road. At the end of Holloway Road it will turn right into Welch Way, which will be openned just for the Carnival Parade. Turning right into the High Street back towards the Buttercross then along Church green to return to the Leys.

Carnival opens at 12.30pm and will continue until 5.00pm. There will be a Donkey Derby and Dog Show as part of the afternoon's fun and games. Main arena events will have The Crazy bears, Irish Dancing, Rudi Wallenda's Comedy Car, Belly dancers, Tug of War Final and the Grand Draw.

The Leys will have plenty of attractions for all the family. Stalls from various local charities, food stalls and trade stalls. Donkey Rides for the youngsters and also Bouncy Castles and other rides.

If the weather is kind it should be a marvelous afternoon.

The event is arranged by The Rotary Club of Witney, The Lions Club of Witney, Witney Roundtable and No 2120 (Witney) Squadron of the AirTraining Corps. This year's Chairman is Peter Davies a member of the Rotary Club.
