High value IT burglary – Witney

Police are appealing for witnesses after tens of thousands of pounds worth of IT equipment were stolen in a burglary in Witney.

The Tekno Solutions store in Market Square was broken into some time between 12.30pm on Sunday afternoon (09/09) and 9am yesterday, causing £2,000 worth of criminal damage.

A large number of items were stolen with a total worth of approximately £20,000. These included a Compaq business server worth £8,000, a CCTV camera and several laptops and PCs.

Det Con Patrick O'Grady of Witney CID said: "These thieves seemed to know what they were after: some of the items they took were specialised and would not be used by the man in the street.

"We would like to hear from anyone who saw something in the Market Square area over the weekend, as well as people and businesses that have been offered equipment they feel is suspicious."

Det Con O'Grady can be contacted via the Police Enquiry Centre via 0845 8 505 505.

If you don't want to talk to police and don't want to leave your name, call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
