Witney radio station - First broadcast

This item of news was issued a while ago, but we hadn't included it in the Witney News section:

Just Oxfordshire to hit the airwaves during The Witney Carnival.

To coincide with The Witney Carnival, Just Oxfordshire will run its first demonstration broadcast offering local people news and information about the fun weekend.

The station is run by local people and features home-grown talent. Just Oxfordshire will offer local people a chance to get involved as the organisation bids for a permanent community radio licence.

“Commercial radio has become too predictable and safe so we've banned the bland!”

Just Oxfordshire will run its daytime schedule for an adult audience and in the evening programmes will be made for and by young people from our area.
