Cool down this summer with over 40 varieties of local beer and cider. Live music, Summer Bar, food stalls, giant chess, lawn croquet, Aunt Sally, super hero wrestling, Morris dancers, family day.
Try over 40 varieties of speciality beer and cider from local breweries within 30 miles of Cogges in Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Gloucestershire. Be dazzled by seasonal specials, limited editions and summer flavours at the Cogges 3rd annual Beer and Cider festival, held in the pictureqsue 17th century Cotswold barns and historic grounds.
New this year, keep cool as a cucumber with Pimms and lemonade and still and sparkling wine from the Summer Bar, with fresh cucumber, fruit and mint picked from the Cogges walled garden.
The whole family can join the fun at the Saturday Family Day between 1 and 5pm, with bouncy castle, lawn croquet, giant chess, super-hero wrestling, storytelling, kids activities and festival specials at the Cafe at Cogges.
Proceeds raised will go towards the running of Cogges, a charity at the heart of the local community in Witney, managed by Cogges Heritage Trust and supported by volunteers. Raise money for Cogges and go in the wooden stocks Saturday 11.30am – 12.30pm – don’t miss your chance to throw sponges at director Colin Shone in the wooden stocks on Saturday at 12.30pm!
No festival would be complete without live music and this year Witney’s TunaTheday and Rapture host the Music in the Barn on both evenings, featuring vintage jazz and jump blues from Oxford big band headliners The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band on Friday and indie folk acoustic on Saturday with Family Machine.
“Fine beer, cider and great music…the perfect combination. Witney deserves more events like this so make sure to get your tickets early.” Adrian Phillips, TunaTheDay.
Watch the Ducklington Morris on Friday night, and have a go!
